"Perfect" - VIDEO TUTORIAL - Scraps of Darkness "Seaside Kit"

Hello everyone!  This is my fourth project using June's amazing Scraps of Darkness "Seaside Kit" and my layout is titled "Perfect".  As a bonus, I have made another mixed media layout video tutorial to share with you.  And as always, most of the video is in fast forward, and for the parts that involve a lot of gluing, I only briefly show those and cut them short.  You can watch it here on youtube or view it at the bottom of my blog entry.

For this layout, I used both the main kit and Elements Add-On Kit.  Here is a preview of the kits, and don't forget to go to the Scraps of Darkness online store for all the newest kits before they're sold out!

Here are some close ups and angle pictures showing the details on my layout using the 49 and Market paper the gorgeous kit embellishments:

My video tutorial will give you a lot of extra details on my project, and I love to hear what you think!  Comments and suggestions are always appreciated.  Thanks for checking out my layout today and I hope you enjoy the video!  Have a great day! :-)

"Smile" - VIDEO TUTORIAL - Scraps of Darkness Seaside Kit

Hello everyone!  Today I am excited to share my newest layout titled "Smile" with a video tutorial using the Scraps of Darkness "Seaside Kit"!  Most of my video tutorial is in fast forward, but I slow it down a bit sometimes to demonstrate certain techniques. You can check out my video tutorial here on youtube or you can watch it at the bottom of this blog entry.

Here is a preview of June's main kit "Seaside Kit" and the Elements Add On Kit:

I actually chose not to use many embellishments for this project so that I could focus on teaching my background techniques on the video tutorial.

Even subtle background details can have a nice impact.

Here are more closeups and angles of my layout showing the beautiful embellishments:

Hopefully you get a chance to check out my video tutorial. Feel free to let me know what you think! Suggestions and comments are welcomed and appreciated.  Now, on with the show!

Thanks for visiting, and make sure to get messy ;-)

"Sail Away With Me" Layout for the Scraps of Darkness Seaside Kit!

Hi everyone!  I hope you all are doing well.  Today I have a layout titled "Sail Away With Me" using the newest Scraps of Darkness "Seaside Kit".

Scraps of Darkness Mixed Media Layout Serene Ocean

I seriously love this kit.  The colors are absolutely amazing, and I had a lot of fun making this layout! The paper itself is just beautiful. I continued the beach theme and added some seashells to my layout.

To make the background, I used some modeling paste and striped stencil, then I also used some glass bead gel with a stencil that has a cracked effect. I used one of the Kaisercraft stickers for my title along with the pastel glass gems, metal dragonfly charms, and starfish since they all complimented the theme and color scheme beautifully.

The deep teal and blue mists helped to make the picture sort of "flow" into the gorgeous paper from the kit. These colors look amazing next to the awesome 49 and Market flowers from the main kit. Did I mention yet that I love this kit? LOL

I hope I was able to give a little seaside inspiration today, and don't forget you can visit the Scraps of Darkness online store here, and for the monthly Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance Kits and Add-On Kits you can check here.  For this layout, I used the "Seaside Kit" (the main kit, but you can choose from a variety of add-on kits to compliment the main kit):

Thank you for coming by to take a glance today, and I will be back soon with my third project using the Scraps of Darkness Seaside Kit. ;-)
